The Grand Budapest Hotel

One thing that struck me very deep was how much we delved into this obscure life of Gustave and his death which is mentioned only briefly. Gustave is such an unbelievably colorful character and we become so attached to hI'm as the movie plays out. He's funny yet intelligent and refined but occasionally becomes brash with a "fuck!" or "shit". We are given the privilege of joining him and Zero on the wacky adventure, but in the end, after all the colorfulness and beauty that we experienced with him, we get one last black and white scene before older Zero tells us simply that "he was taken out and shot". And that was it. This hit me so hard. http://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/2ifae8/the_grand_budapest_hotel/

Lucasfilm is a non-union company, and despite George Lucas's stature and clout, that, says Howard Kazanjian in Empire of Dreams, made acquiring shooting locations more difficult and more expensive, even though A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back were mammoth hits. The title was used in all areas where it seemed necessary. The Blue Harvest ruse, credited to producer Howard Kazanjian, was very thorough, emblazoning the fictitious film's logo on a wide range of film production items including shirts, caps, coats, buttons, signs, invoices and stationery. The Blue Harvest facade did give a bit of a wink and nod to its true purpose however, as the supposed film's logo (intentionally or unintentionally) utilized the distinctive Star Wars logo lettering style. http://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/2ifzlw/50_photos_chronicling_the_making_of_return_of_the/

What was the best film you saw this week? (9/29/14 - 10/5/14)

(0 children) When looking at film soundtracks, I always loved listening to Hans Zimmer, John Williams and Howard Shore. Since The Social Network, I'm a big fan of Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross. I was not surprised by the quality of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo's OST and I was definitely expecting Gone Girl to have a great OST as well. I was not disappointed. I love this guys' music. http://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/2ifwby/trent_reznor_discussing_scoring_gone_girl_and_his/

I'll be first in line" and would ignore the same movie with a different title and no apparent link to I am Legend? Maybe we're a vocal minority but when I see the title "I am Legend" or anything else that's already been a movie in recent years and doesn't look anything like the source material OR the other movie, I instantly tune out and the movie doesn't exist to me. http://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/2ie71t/i_am_legend_reboot_in_the_works/
